Beginning in the Depression-era struggles of the 1930s, the story journeys through the hardships, triumphs, and tragedies of the Bartie family and their community, culminating in the catastrophic Hurricane Audrey of 1957 — the fifth-worst storm in U.S. history, claiming over 500 lives.

1957: Hurricane Audrey

On June 27, Hurricane Audrey devastated Cameron Parish, claiming over 500 lives and marking one of the deadliest hurricanes in U.S. history.

In the years following Audrey, two major hurricanes continued to test the strength and unity of the families in Cameron Parish.

2020: Hurricane Laura

The final chapter unfolds as Hurricane Laura strikes in 2020, completely destroying the Harrison family home and closing a generational story of survival.
